We had our first pediatrician visit today...at 2:30pm...at Pediatric Associates of Dallas
...
we were referred by Dr. Chapman(obgyn) to see Dr. Foster...Rowyn was evaluated by two of his associates, Dr. Brown and Dr. Dreiling while in the hospital.
Leaving the house today...
Daddy gettin' Rowyn undressed, and ready to see the doctor...
Chris and I had some questions about a ridge that rowyn has across the top of her head...
Dr. Foster said that this is completely normal... newborns skulls are in plates... and sometimes the plates slide and slip under each other...eventually as she grows, they will all level out...
He said that her color looks great, no signs of being overly jaundice...
we were a little worried about this being that it seemed to me, the overly paranoid new mom, that she wasnt eating enough... because she is sleeping so much... i have been waking her up to eat... but she just doesnt seem intrested... falls asleep during feedings ect...so we were please to find that everything checked out good with the pediatrician.
She was 8 lbs 10 oz when she was born...she was 8 lbs 1 oz on discharge date from hospital... today she weighed 7 lbs 10 oz... he again said that this is normal for newborns to lose weight after birth, but is expected to be back up to 8 lbs 10 oz by her next appt which will be in 2wks...
Time to go...
After the pediatricians visit, we had to run by Dr. Chapmans office, OBGYN, and pick up a perscription and some prenatal vitamins... they say i have to continue to take those while i am breast feeding...
Then we ran some errands... well we sat in the truck while chris ran errands that he had to run... lol... decided to take advantage of our time and feed and play with rowyn while we waited on daddy... here are some pics...
This is Jakes huge hand on little Rowyn's head...funny huh...
BIG Yawn...
Next we met friends at The Jalapeno Tree for dinner to celebrate my mom turning 50...
today was her bday...we originally had a dinner party planned on saturday 6-7-08 to celebrate... but lil' lil' decided that was gonna be her day instead. So instead of a dinner party on saturday...my mom had to settle for getting a new grand daughter instead...i dont think she minded one bit...
Of course everyone wanted to hold and love on Rowyn...
But she refused to wake up... guess she was pooped out...
She did cuddle up with mommy though...
After such a long day... my feet and ankles were definitly not going to let me forget about it... sometimes they feel like they might POP!
We got home... got Rowyn fed and changed into her jammies... and she just
S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D her little self out, im sure in pure delight to be home...
Long Day...Good Night everyone! Love, Mommy and Rowyn
